About us

Hipotecalc produces free web-based financial tools — mortgage, ITP, plusvalía, purchase-costs and rental-profitability calculators — and reliable, up-to-date information on the Spanish mortgage market. How we source and verify every figure is explained in our methodology.

The team

Hipotecalc is built by a two-person team, Dani and Carlos: a developer and a finance expert with a long fintech career. They build the calculators and produce the site’s content from official sources.

Who signs the content

The editorial financial content is authored by José Perales, mortgage advisor and real estate credit intermediary registered with the Bank of Spain under number E286. The team builds the tools and maintains the data.

Our relationship with the advisor

No fine print: Hipotecalc has a commercial lead-referral agreement with José Perales. When you use the site's "contact our broker" buttons and end up working with him, Hipotecalc may receive compensation for that introduction. This agreement doesn't change what we publish: the calculators, the comparison data and the guides are built from official sources and are identical for every reader, whether or not they contact the advisor.

What we are not
